TCB 900™ automatically recognizes¹ compatible microengravings and captures high-resolution lens images, helping practitioners identify the lens and use its embedded information to support accurate centering and preparation.
Its intelligent automation² transforms hidden lens markings into actionable guidance and simplifies complex workflows while reducing operator dependency. This supports consistent and repeatable results while allowing eye care professionals to focus more on patient care.
In the event of imperfect/non detection, the ECP can use the FineView™ module, which provides the operator with advanced visual assistance for precise repositioning of micro engraving in the event of imperfect detection, particularly in cases of shallow engraving².
Identifying a lens is only the first step. Lens Mapper³ goes one step further by revealing its optical architecture.
Through a comprehensive visualization of the progression corridor, astigmatism distribution and power variations across the lens surface, TCB 900™ provides practitioners with additional information to support lens verification before the edging cycle (pre-mounting verification).
The Soft Grip tracing system of TCB 900™ minimizes probe pressure by up to 25%⁴ while maintaining stable frame geometry, helping preserve frame integrity including on highly flexible frames¹ throughout the preparation workflow.
TCB 900™ brings together three complementary layers of intelligence to support every stage of lens preparation: What lens is it? How is it designed? How it can be prepared reliably?
The result is an informed preparation workflow— one that can help reduce uncertainty and interruptions, support consistency and encourage practitioners to proceed with confidence.
Disclaimers:
1. Based on Internal Product Qualification Report, April 2026: Vesuvio-RPT-063_CR-L90-apr26_REV_A. Currently restricted to circular micro-engravings and exclusively applicable to Essilor products
2. Based on an Internal Function Testing Report, June 2026 that yielded an 82% success rate. Outcomes depend heavily on the depth of micro-engravings and the quality of lens stamps.
3. Lens Mapper is intended for indication purposes only and should not be used as a calibrated measurement tool.
4. A 25% reduction in pressure may be considered compared to previous Essilor tracers, based on reference internal document: L1111O. Note: The term “flexible frame” (monture souple) refers to eyewear frames designed to bend or deform under minimal pressure. This includes, but is not limited to, ultra-thin frames, as well as frames manufactured from silicone, elastic, or other pliable materials.
